First you should know that I will be using my favorite rainbow mug today that says, “I think I will just be happy today.” It will be full of steaming hot coffee, frothed almond milk and a splash of sugar free vanilla! I am in the process of eliminating coffee from my routine, however, I think I have actually increased my dosage! SMH
I am a Texas girl, raised in New Mexico and born in Nevada! I have been married to my high school sweetie for 25 years! We are now empty nesters trying to learn, again, how to fly. This adjustment came with a new home a year ago. We live in a 500 square foot studio. That is a lot to get used to, trust me!! We have a dog, two cats and two bunnies.
Outside of my crafty life there is no life! Ok, that might be a little dramatic, that’s how I roll. Time with my family is what I love most. We enjoy fishing in our pond, dirt track racing, traveling, antique shopping, amusement parks and so much more.
I have always been some sort of crafty girl. I remember wanting to be an artist as a little girl. That is still what I want to be when I grow up. When my baby girl was born in 1998, I started scrapbooking, when we moved to Texas in 2012 I all but stopped all crafting. Then in 2015 I started searching for what was missing. It ended up being my crafty itch that needed scratched. I found (Cori) and listers gotta list and that was the end. I jumped headfirst! No turning back! I have loved every second since. I still memory keep and am totally a planner girl!
My most used crafty tool would probably be my paper trimmer from Fiscar and a close second would be my fussy cutting scissors from EK Success. A paper trimmer helps me keep my cuts straight, and I love the small scissors with the sharp point for getting into those tight spots when fussy cutting.
I am a hoarder; I mean craft supply collector extraordinaire! This is a little bit of a problem when you have a small space to craft. Just the other day I was on the phone with a friend and she gave me some suggestions that I believe were wise and will hopefully help someone else as much as I hope it helps me. Keep an empty storage container in the garage! When you find you are needing something new, you must use or get rid of something already in your space! The storage box is for the things you don’t use, you can easily donate these items. It sounds so simple, but for this craft collector it will be a challenge! So, challenge accepted!
Storing The Reset Girl items can be done in so many ways! I think I change my system about as often as I change my water filter. Every three months. I have used craft bins from Michaels, storage boxes from Hobby Lobby, to totes. Right now, I am loving these very inexpensive clear organizers from JoAnn’s. I think it was less than $3.00! I use more of my collection when I have it right in front of me where I can see all the things!
I am so blessed to have an awesome space to create! My Daughter in love found the best deal on a Scrapbox on Facebook! When she sent me the link I almost died!! I thought for sure something had to be wrong with it. But when I picked this beauty up there was not one thing wrong!! It is the only way I could have a “crafty space” of my own in our tiny home. It is probably the oldest model and they no longer have it available but i love it! I painted the outside white with homemade chalk paint (another hobby), it was light colored but white is my fave color, so it had to be changed! And I can change out the color of storage baskets anytime I want, because it is just a sheet of card stock cut to fit!!! Right now, you can see that I am loving me some rainbow goodness right now.
I loved sitting down and chatting over a cup with you! I hope you did too! If you haven’t already, go meet the other awesome ladies on the team and mark your calendars for next month to get to know another creative lady.
