Welcome to the Weekly Reset!
Thanks so much for signing up and allowing me to send you some love to your inbox. I wanted to create a short and sweet little personal message for you that would help kick off each week, plus share some of what I am doing here at home that I thought may interest you too! I have links to things I am using, watching, listening to…all in a lovely roundup. Don’t you love those? I love when someone does all the hard work for me and gathers up all the goods in one place. Allow me to do that for you here!
But first, this is what is on my heart for you: This time of the year can often overwhelm us with tasks, responsibilities, overcommitting and feeling like the season is rushing past all too fast.Despite the flurry of activity that will swirl around you, be sure to schedule down time. Say no if you have to, and mean it. Put some down time plans in your planner that are just for you, whether that is for getting a fresh manicure (red nails are dazzling during the holidays!) or taking a walk to see decorations, enjoying coffee in a local shop while you work on your planner, meeting with girlfriends for lunch at a fun restaurant. There will always be reason to be busy, so be good to yourself and be sure to make time for you. If you are feeling really brave, go get a photo with Santa! I have this on my own personal bucket list for this season, I hope I go through with it 🙂
In the midst of the projects I am working on, here are some things I have been doing and rounded up to share with you:
CURRENTLY LISTENING: How about some classic Christmas music to plan, craft and decorate to? I will be listening to this playlist all month, plus Spotify will let you make your own playlists for free! Weeeeee! Also, when we aren’t listening to Christmas music, we have this channel playing in the background. It’s soothing, lovely, and makes the RV feel so fancy and elegant.
CURRENTLY READING – PRODUCTIVITY: If you are like me, you are always looking to get things accomplished in a way that works for you. One topic I love reading about is productivity and routines. I definitely have some issues when it comes to staying focused, and finishing things. I am a great starter, but a lousy finisher. I am going to be reading this book next to find out how to do this better. Last year, I discovered the Pomodoro technique and have been having success with applying it to my routine, of all the methods I have tried, it’s worked the best. I look at it as ‘time chunking’…which inspired the design of my weekly inserts. All you need is a timer (I love this one but you can use your phone’s timer too) and a little bit of discipline. I bought this little ebook recently, which takes the idea of time chunking a bit further, if you like this idea. Another resource for delicious little bite-sized books on time management is this budget-friendly set from SJ Scott, one of my favorite authors on Amazon.
CURRENTLY READING – FAITH: My favorite Christian author and speaker is hands down Priscilla Shirer. 10 years ago, I drove 700 miles solo, just to see her speak at a women’s event. As her ministry has grown, I have been in awe of how much bolder and bigger her message has become. One of her books I am currently reading is this gem…and I am working through her Bible study, which I am loving. I also subscribed to her channel here.
CURRENTLY WATCHING: Before I was a planner-obsessed video watcher, I used to spend my time watching beauty vloggers on YouTube. One of my favorites is Dominique Sachse, who makes videos for ladies primarily 35+ and is professional newscaster. One favorite video is Top 10 Anti-Aging Tops that Won’t Break the Bank. And speaking of anti-aging, here is a great video channel for posture videos you will appreciate! I wish I would have started these exercises sooner! And also binge watching Seinfeld for the 8,638th time. It still blows my mind that when the show first aired I had just graduated high school! Needless to say that was quite a while ago 😉
CURRENTLY CRAFTING: So this month is all about #DecemberDaily, the scrapbooking phenomonen that Ali Edwards started many moons ago. And although I have said a million times I am not a scrapbooker, I have to admit I have been drawn in. I am opting for a very simple set up, and no daily documenting. For me, I am just going to make super simple pages, and add ephemera and tidbits from any event that happens in the entire month of December. I am calling it my #DecemberDoingtheBestICan Album. Want to join in? I have been curating lots of delicious layouts you can use as inspriation and tweak for your own project. I will be filming a video on my set up and assembling my first layout shortly. I am nervous, this being my first attempt at real memory keeping 🙂
Well, that’s it for now…I hope you have a wonderful week awesome girl!
Love, Cori
